Sun Tzu
Sun Tzu, in the Art of War makes the famous pronouncement in chaper 1 paragraph 16 that:
"All warfare is based on deception".
I highly recommend that you read the whole thing, because it is a brilliant treatise that is as valid today as it was 2400 years ago, supporting my belief that we have not advanced nearly as far as we think we have in the last 20,000 years or more, but that is a topic of a later post.
Now it would appear that BushCorp, did follow this advice, but I think they did so out of context. You see, George, Dick, Rummy, it is the enemy that you wish to deceive. Maybe this will make more sense, "It's the enemy stupid".
The problem is twofold. One is the problem of "self deception" on the part of the administration, (which is me being polite). The other is "public deception" (which is me being not so polite).
You only have to skim the first two chapters of the book to appreciate how wrong this Operation Iraqi Freedom was handled. The old man would conclude that we would lose before we even started, and might suggest that we not engage in such a fools errand.
